United Nations Oceans Conference

From June 9–13, 2025, France and Costa Rica will co-host the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in the southern French city of Nice. The goal of the summit is to address the increasingly urgent ocean crisis that scientists warn is nearing a point of no return. As the conference closes, participating nations are expected to adopt a non-binding declaration highlighting that of all the UN Sustainable Development Goals, protecting the oceans is the least funded.
